The former world champion only announced his official retirement last week but Golden Boy Promotions chief Oscar De La Hoya would appear to think Hatton will consider a comeback.
Hatton's camp have confirmed to the Daily Telegraph an offer was made when De La Hoya was in Manchester for last week's Amir Khan v Paul McCloskey fight, although Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer has since denied such a contest is in the offing.
Hatton has not fought since losing to Manny Pacquiao almost two years ago, while Morales last year returned from a long period away from the ring. He recently lost his first fight since his comeback to Marcos Maidana on a majority decision.
De La Hoya said: "Ricky against Morales would be a wonderful fight in Las Vegas, a great event, a meeting of two real legends of the sport.
"Fight fans all over the world will want to see that."Erik has shown Ricky that it can be done. He was away for three years but has returned to have three fights before putting on a beautiful performance against Marcos Maidana."
Hatton, reportedly seriously considering the offer, said last week he still missed the sport but also admitted: "If the fire isn't burning to get up at 6am and go running, then spar, diet and make the other sacrifices I have made for so many years, then I've got to call it a day.
"It still breaks my heart to think I won't fight again - but at least I'm man enough to admit it now."
